A Flaw In The Letter

The letters stared blankly up at him. He'd retrace every line and curve, recognising his familiar old handwriting yet still hoping to find a flaw, some 'a' shaped the wrong way, some inconsistent stroke. Was he just using it as an excuse for what he'd done? No. He felt a pull to that letter, something he couldn't describe and longed to discover, almost as much as the explanation of his parent's abrupt leave.
