The Want For Lonliness

Argh this is my closest deadline yet...

Terrier walked briskly ahead, practically running for the bathroom, away from the girl who was calling for him. He nearly ran into the door upon approach, and hastened inside before closing and locking the door behind him. He could still hear the voice on the other side of the door. It would never go away.

"Uncle T!" it called, over and over.

"Go away!" he yelled back. He regretted it, but she couldn't see him like this. He knew it was unwise to become close with her, but he couldn't help it. She was the one thing that made him happy. Yet still, there were times he just couldn't face her. There were times he'd rather be depressed. And this was one of them. He rested his forehead against the wood as she tried to bang it down. He calmly shut his eyes and tried to clear his mind. It didn't work. He opened his eyes to find himself staring at the floor, fresh blood dripping onto the bathroom tiles. He drew a shaky breath, before wiping his hand upon the side of his cheek. The blood stained the palm of his hand, his fingers.

"Uncle T!" Chloe moaned on the other side of the door, "Why won't you come out and see me?"

Terrier punched the door hard, hurting his knuckles, but it felt good. What didn't feel good was ignoring his little friend, but he had to. "Just go away," he whispered back, "Leave me alone."

"But -"

"GO!" Terrier screamed, dropping to the ground and leaning his back up against the door. There was silence on the other side, and he knew he'd scared her off. He was already kicking himself for it. He buried his face into his knees and let the tears roll out one by one. It hurt so much more every time he thought it was getting better. What would happen come this time in a week? For all he knew, he could be seperated from Chloe. Forever.
