Lonely

The girl kicked a stone on the footpath, sending it flying a few feet ahead as she dragged her feet forward. She was tired, and feeling lonely, as she supposed half the world felt right now. There were too many lonely people in this world. She thought of him, and how he'd loved her. How she had soaked up every inch of it. How she had helped him, and how he had helped her. She was sure they were closer in their relationship then other blood related siblings were. And now he'd finally left her alone. It had had to happen one day, right? She pulled her jumper closer, and kicked the stone again. She missed him. She'd give anything to see him again. But she knew she was waiting on a far away miracle. Still, as she looked up into the blue skies, it wasn't impossible; and that's what kept her going.
