Still Waiting

For Sammy... sorry matey :(

She jumped up at the sound of the postie, racing out to check the letterbox once the guy had driven off. She held her breath as she grabbed the pile of envelopes and turned back towards the house, flipping through them slowly, in the hopes of catching that ever-familar handwriting. Bills, bills, mother, brother... She sighed again, walking defeated back to the house. It had been a year since her penpal of six years had written. Why? She'd sent her Christmas present off on time and everything. She'd recieved it and said a thank you for it. So why was her present so late in the mail again, as it had been the year before, when she had promised it wouldn't happen again. Of course, promises like that are hard to keep. But Christmas was well over, and still, nothing had come. She felt sad without it. No parcel from her lil sis. Surely, it couldn't be much longer... they used to be so close, yet now... things were slowing. Letters became less and less. And she was so busy herself, quilting and sewing. She'd just hoped that maybe that one suprise would refreshen her a bit. She guessed she'd have to wait a little longer.

  1. Aw Kylie, don't feel bad for not sending me a chrissy pressie yet! Just because we don't write as often as we used to doesn't mean I don't love you any less. :) You still are, and always will be my little sis. :)
    Love ya!
