Cold Happiness

He shivered, his insides cold, blanket wrapped tight around him. His breath was uneven, fogging up the air around him as he rocked back and forth, trying to warm up. He was sick of it. He really was. He didn't want to be there any longer. It was killing him from the inside out. His eyes watered, trickling down his cheeks and onto his frozen lips and into his chattering teeth. It was wrong. So wrong. This wasn't home. This brought no safety. Only fear. A trembling fear that swallowed him up whole. He just wanted things to go back to the way there were. That was all. Everyone would be happy. Well, almost everyone.
