Last Minute Words

Typical. So typical, she thought to herself. She had how many months off and sat, doing nothing, and nothing, and more nothing, until what? The last three days of her break, where she goes on an absolute writing splurge? Finally, finally, gets back into her writing, only to be back to her studying a day later, back to where she started? Distracted and unmotivated, with no time for free writing? How could that be? How could she waste it away, until the last minute? Why was it always the same? Not that she was complaining - she'd just written an amazing 2000 words, a big achievement for her. But the fact she could've written five or ten times that amount. The word counts would only diminish from here, back to quick, short things. Although she really hoped it wouldn't come to that. Long train trips, maybe longer ones were still possible. Not just dailies, but inserts into her novel writing. What surprised her more than the word count, was where those words were placed. Inside the gaps. She'd filled up gaps she'd hated for montths. How could she keep it that way? How could she possibly keep that motivation there? There had to be a way. Any way. She wouldn't be able to stand it again otherwise.
