Shivering Silently
He was shivering violently, unable to pull together any thoughts other than how cold he was. Cold and wet. His teeth chattered and he shut his eyes tight. There were men holding him down, trapping him there. He had to escape, but he was so cold and they wouldn't let him move. Their arms were pinning him to the floor which rocked violently. He didn't have the energy to fight away their clutches. He just lay there, shaking uncontrollably until someone threw a blanket over him. How generous. They were actually caring for him. He tried to grasp at its edges, but his fingers were fumbling in the thin air, unable to grasp at anything. Why? What was happening to him? He couldn't hear anything. The silence was deathly. He tried to sit up, lightly punching one of the arms away, only to be restrained some more. He'd try and speak, but his teeth were still chattering and he was starting to blank out. Black splodges were appearing across his vision. Was this really how someone's life ended? Slow, torturous? He hoped not.
