Make The Choice

He was kicking himself on the inside. He'd known it had been a bad idea all along. Now there were two separate groups after him and he didn't know which to run to first. Heck, he had the girl, wasn't that the only thing that had been pulling him back? Couldn't he run to the cops, right now, end this all? But his mind was arguing with his desire. His mind wanted him to return, for some pathetic reason, perhaps because he knew what they were capable of and he knew they'd sought him out again, or his family or other people he cared about. But if he could just get away... this was his chance. He could get away. Why, why was he running the wrong way? He contemplated crashing to the ground, just so he wouldn't have to make the decision, but he could feel them behind him, in front of him, on every angle, closing in and he had to make the choice now.
