Last Minute

How many times would it take to learn that things shouldn't be left 'til the last minute? Was it even learnable? No matter what it was - homework, assignments, chores, competitions, dailies - they always got pushed further and further back, until they could be put off no longer. The last minute. It was more than common sense to get things done early, out of the way, forgotten about. To get things done well before hand, and well... done. A chance to fix it afterward if it's wrong, a chance to improve. A chance to admire what's been done. But things are left to the last minute, rushed, and sometimes it couldn't be helped. A distraction here or there could lead you astray for hours. Or not lead you back at all.
