Crying For You

He stared out at the vacant block of land, teddy bear in one hand, his grandmother's hand in another. His heart seemed heavier as he fought to comprehend the loss. He still wasn't entirely sure what had happened. He just remembered the smoke. The smell of it. The way it obscured his vision. And screaming. Lots and lots of screaming. He heard quiet sobs and he looked up at his grandparents. They shouldn't be crying. How was he to comfort them? He wondered if he could say sorry, but he knew from previous occasions they'd only say it wasn't his fault. How then was he to wipe away their tears? And he began crying, too.
